There is no reason to feel self conscience about your communication skills. Just practice talking in the mirror. Think of responses to things that you have been asked in the past, and things that you anticipate being asked. We all fumble sometimes when responding to others. Also, you may want to increase your vocabulary skills. There are speech books, English books, and dictionaries for improving your skills. Doing word puzzles helps the vocabulary too. Start with the mid level ones and move up. You would be surprised how much those puzzles help.

Having confidence in yourself is very important. The more confident you are, the better anything that you say will sound. If you lack confidence, act as if you have it. Pretty soon you will have yourself convinced that you are confident. It really works, believe it or not!!! Make a list of your good qualities, then one of you bad qualities. This helps you to realize what you excel in, and to improve those things that you may need help with. One by one, work on each bad quality to improve it. Do not try to work on everything at once. Pick one or two to work on, and complete them before moving on. If you try to do everything at once it will overwhelm you, and you will probably give up.

It sounds like plenty to do, but you would be surprised how quickly you will begin to see results.

Good Luck!!

You sound very self-conscience. First thing you should do is to not worry about what other people think of you. They're too busy thinking of themselves to really care. Don't belittle yourself so much..What really makes anyone elses opinion anymore important than yours? If they think you're "retarded" for speaking your honest mind, forget about them...You shouldn't care about their opinions anyway

hey it's nothing to feel bad about. what I do is practice in front of my mom or my girlfriend and by the way speak whatever is on your mind boldly and listen to what the people whom you are conversing with then think of something casual to say related to that topic. And if they say your "retarded" for speaking your honest mind then forget them you do not need them to live and they are probably to busy thinking about themselves to care a trickle about what you're saying
