I think it's wrong.
And I really hate how people think that animal testing is a 'good idea'.
I know that animals arnt exacally human beings, but there somwhat just like us, they feel pain, they get hurt, they cry, and they bleed, just like us.
I know that some people think that animal testing would so-call save 'human lives' but why do they torture them, stab them, burn them, cut them open, or you can just think of anything horrible and inhumane you can think of, they've done it.
Just think about it. can you imagine peacefull loving harmfull animals being tortured? Or can you imagine your dog (your bestfriend) being split open and tortured?
I think that the animal liberation front are the REAL heroes. i know its wrong for them to 'break in' but i hate how its illegal for them to save the harmfull creatures, but its legal for lab 'scientist' to hurt and torture living creatures.
Please give me your opinions and what you think about animal testing

I'm totally against it and we ARE animals if you didn't know that. I don't see why we need to kill off animals to save humans because there's like 8 billion humans on the earth. Isn't that a little over populated? I hate it when adults say they have to hunt so the deer and stuff don't get overpopulated. That's stupid because if there forest weren't cut down they wouldn't have to be overpopulated because there's be enough green for everyone to share. I also hate it when people kill bugs. I love bees and my sisters friends knocked down a bee's nest and I wanted to punch them! I think anyone who tested animals should be beaten and thrown in jail for life!!! I am a vegetarian but I'm only 13 now but if it continues, I'm gonna do everything in my power to stop it and bush sucks!! I really hope he dies a miserable death for drilling Antarctica! We got legs and bicycles! We don't need some air killing cars!
This is my list of people I hope die:
Cliffie duckie
acanoffleas(Tell your dad he's an a**hole)
sophie b
rive sud
This is the BIGGEST b***h I've ever seen:
debbie v(they were not put here for us to use they were put here to keep the ecosystem in balance and don't ever go on a question like this because I'll criticize u I hope u live alone for the rest of your pathetic life!!!!!

Ok, here's my thoughts. First of all, have you ever been in an animal testing facility? I highly doubt it. I don't like animal testing for things like cosmetics and other things that do NOT need to be tested on animals. However, for medical purposes, it's actually needed. Most people think that these animals are raised on puppy farms and left in cages and are hurt during the testing. This is NOT NOT NOT true. My dad is a biomedical engineer and does some animal testing. He does many many tests on artificial membranes and makes sure that it will be relatively safe for the animal. All animals are raised on the property (Mayo) and are played with a lot! They even hire lots of high school students from the area to play with the dogs and other animals. They're treated just like a pet until testing time. When being used as a test subject, they are carefully monitored and the second they show signs of pain, they are given lots of pain-killers. If it gets to the point where the animal will get severely injured if it's used as a subject anymore, the tests are stopped. If the animal gets very sick and can't be helped (usually this is NOT due to the testing, just a genetic problem the animal already had) they will put the animal to sleep. They are NOT kept in kennels all day and do NOT suffer! They are NEVER tortured, stabbed, burned, etc. You have been watching too much TV! I urge you to actually visit a medical animal testing facility and see for yourself that I'm not making this up. If the animals were ever hurt or mistreated, I would have a big problem with it, but they're not!
If you have a problem with animal testing, you need to stop using all medications, don't go to the hospital or get any surgery done, or use any over-the-counter drugs. These have ALL been tested on animals.
Please don't make up your mind just on what you see on TV or in the news. If you want to be credible, you need to research BOTH sides of the argument, and then decide.

Well in the past (maybe still now) people unknowingly are being tested for things (like medications), and mice used to be and still being used as test subjects for lots of things. Monkeys used to be test subjects and maybe still are. I understand prisoners are used as test subjects as well. Advancements to make humans healthy is the reasons animals are used. However the organizations that do the testing try to keep away from using pets. But I suspect if they are animals that just don't have homes or their population has been overwhelming then they are used as test subjects. There are some laws in place now. Have you ever heard of the old way of testing humans for pregnancy? like with rabbits? So now there are test kids on the market instead. Animals also used to be tested for cosmetics. How would you rather have them tested before a human uses it? And frankly, when my aged pets had to be put to sleep I have no idea what the vet did with my pet.

I'm not necessarily an animal lover. I don't have pets. But animal cruelty is wrong. Do we need any animal testing? Could we do some or all testing on rapists and murderers? These people have committed crimes of their own making. The animals haven't done anything wrong. Which one is more worthy of respect?

Well, as much as you're going to hate to hear this, I think it's a necessary evil. I'm an owner of four guinea pigs whom I love to death. They're practically my children! And everyone knows that guinea pigs have a history of being animals used in laboratory testing. I don't enjoy the thought, but I'm grateful for the progress we as a society have made because of it. We wouldn't have vaccines and antibiotics without it. I disagree with testing of cosmetics and chemicals, but I think medical testing is something different altogether.
I love animals - I adopt from shelters, I give money to rescues, and I even work with animals for a living. But I can't honestly say that I'm 100% against animal testing.

I believe that even though animal testing would benefit us in a way, it is still not right. If we wanted those animal-tested products so badly, we would not sacrifice others because of what we want. If we want to use good products for US, we should test them on stylists.
It may seem ridiculous, but why should it animals die because of something we wanted?

The animal liberation front is misconstrued. See my profile pic? I am technically a member. So are many others. WIthout knowing it.
Basically you are a member if you are a vegetarian/vegan interested in the welfare of animals and willing to act against it. There is no official organisation it is a label.
Many ALF members never commit a 'violent' crime. I never have!
Still the animal liberation activists who free animals from labs are heroes. They risk life freedom and limb to save animals in danger.
Animal testing is wrong on many levels. They cannot communicate int he same way as us, and therefore not give their consent, and have done nothing wrong to deserve this.
Perhaps we could use all those MURDERERS and RAPISTS in prison as test subjects.
It is more accurate as well. Take penicillin for example. It kills guinnea pigs. IF it were testd on them it would have never gone through and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives would have been lost.

I've posted enough in Answers on this topic, so I will raise one brief point:
Many people who are incarcerated for violent crimes have serious mental health issues. Do you feel that testing procedures/treatments on those individuals is going to be more effective than testing on healthy animals who have been raised in conditions to "prime" them for the research?

Young lady, I can completely understand your feelings. And I respect your positions.
My position is this: God created the heaven and earth and put man here. Man was the reason earth was created. They added animals. What was the reason for animals?
Man. Who named the animals? Man.
The purpose for the earth, for the heavens, for the seas and everything in them, and the purpose for animals is man. They were made for us to eat, use as we needed. Did God intend for us to treat them cruelly? Of course not. But they are there for us, not the other way around.
Let's take this one step further. What was the purpose of man? The purpose of man was for his Creator, God. Enough said.
