I told my boyfriend, we should get married, because we were together for 10 years and we are already in our 30s. But before that we in a living in set up for about 10 years. We lived in our own, for 7 years and 3 years in his parent’s home. He was okay with it at first. Even if we are not certain about how to go about it since we don’t have that much money, we decided in having a simple ceremony. But out of the blue he told me he doesn’t want to get married anymore because he is afraid of responsibility and the future, I think of financial problems. But why be afraid now after years of living together?

i must admit, he had all the perks while we were in that set up. he came from poor origins, but becuase i love him, i shouldered most of the expenses. Now since he has a stable job,its payback time.

There is a saying in Russia that why marry if your neighbor is married.Socialism apart,He does not find any added value in exchange for the additional responsibilities and commitments in marriage.Quite sensible and logical on his part though questionable on ethical grounds.It's now your take on the issue.

IMHO, when a guy gets married he loses his "out." If you're just dating or in a long-term relationship he can call it quits and walk away. He has a way out.
For some guys it's the committment to one person FOREVER. I think that's scary to most men. BUT, I think as he gets older he'll come around.
