NOO DON'T PUT IT ON FIRST THAT WILL MESS UP THE CAR !! don't ever put it on 1st or reverse when your car is moving already.... just put it on third balance the clutch and push the gas if you are not use to it, press the break if its necessary... eventually you'll master balancing the clutch easily and you'll get it don't worry

Ok rule of thumb you put it in whatever gear it takes you to pull the hill. If you have to down shift to 1st to pull the hill you want it in 1st before you start down the hill.
Another rule of thumb no Georgia overdrive (coasting in neutal) going down hills. Fast way to flunk a driving test.
Another rule of thumb is to know the speed verus RPM in each gear so you do not drop it in too low a gear and over rev the engine.

yea you can put it back into 2nd without going into first. But i would recomend just putting it into a higheer gear like 3rd just so its a smoother shift. I always go down hills into nuetral and into stops.

Just drop it into third gear - clutch down and into third.
