5x2 + 8x + c
( 5x + 3)( x + 1) =0

c= 3

since we have ax+by+c=0 and u say that a=5. the only way is 5*1=5

how to make 8? we can only do it with 5+3=8

so,the answer is 3

if not believe,try expand the equation and u will get it correct

5x2 + 8x + c
5x^2 + 5x + 3x + c
5x^2 + 5x + 3x + 3
5 x(x + 1) + 1( x + 1)
(5x + 1)(x + 1)

so the equation is factorable only when c = 3
