Do you use bookmarks, do you use whatever is laying around, or do you dog-ear??? What are you reading right now...and what are you using as a bookmark? Right now I'm reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King and I'm using a McDonalds receipt as a bookmark...lol. Sorry..I'm bored!

For those who asked this Stephen King is starting to get good...(close to page 300 now). It is hard to get into because of the way the books is written .. but all these little seemingly odd peice of things are coming together now. It's all about a writers widow who is having to relive some memories that she doesn't really want to relive to find something that she knows is there. But she isn't sure what yet. Like I said...it's confusing but coming together finally.

I haven't dog-eared since I was a kid! Now I respect my books, no matter how shabby. :-} BUT I have a few favorite bookmarks, especially one with Spock and another one that's an enameled flying eagle. Best of all, I love the fancy leather editions that come with a ribbon sewn in so you can't lose your bookmark. That's what I've got in the 100th Anniversary Edition of Sherlock Holmes I'm re-reading now. The worst bookmark I ever used (You didn't ask, but...) was a ticket to Disneyland that I left in a school textbook. Because I forgot I put it there, I missed out on a trip to Disneyland!

I usually use whatever is layng around. Right now I am reading a collection of stories called Thriller, by various authors and it kinda sucks. I am using a piece of string from one of my shirts. It was supposed to be a compilation of scary stories but mostly they are just boring. There has only been one good one so far.
I read Liseys Story, and it was good. I love Stephen King, he is my favorite writer. Of all time. My first Stephen King book was when I was in 3rd grade and it was The Dead Zone. my second was Needful Things not long after. Ive been hooked ever since.

Depends on the book and the quality of it. If it is a cheap paperback that I bought used, I will dog-ear the corner. If it is a new book - I will use a bookmark, paperclip, or a blockbuster card or business card - whatever may be lying around. Lately, I have been buying classics to build a library, so I try to by nicer quality hardcover books - which usually have the ribbon attached to the book for marking pages.

Oh - and I am reading Waiting to Exhale by Terry McMillan - I just started it, so I am using the dustjacket to mark where I am.

For a bookmark, I have a clear plastic bookmark holder with the grey wolf pictured on it. I am currently reading Laurell K Hamilton's "The Harlequin". Its her newest eddition out. Its really good too. I also have been known to use the library receipts as book markers too. I try very hard not to dog ear the pages. I know it ruins the value of a book.

I usually use whatever's around or a pencil I've been using as a bookmark. I never fold the page.

Reading: Tom Robbins's Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates. No bookmark. The book is just turned faced down on the last page I read.

I some strange obsession with bookmarks... I have probably 30 of them. So I, obviously, only use real bookmarks. ;) I love opening a book and seeing a cool bookmark.

Right now I'm reading Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy and I'm using a bookmark with the painting 'waterlilies' by monet that I got at the Chicago art institue. :)

I started collecting bookmarks during vacations. So yes, I use them. I also made some bookmarks. The first were for my dad's memorial service. He was an author, so I thought bookmarks with his picture and one of his funny sayings would be nice. I'm still using those. Right now I'm reading:
The Noonday Demon, an atlas of Depression,
Rules, by Cynthia Lord, and
The Motley Fool, Money after 40.

I don't dog ear books really unless as a last resort. I like using bookmarks but I can never seem to find any even though I have millions lying around. I just use random pieces of paper or anything to I can find. Currently I am reading Violin by Anne Rice and am using a library recipt as a bookmark. I like random questions ^^
