I don't know where you are, but it looks rather like what's sometimes called a Woodlouse Spider. I can't remember the latin name off the top of my head (just checked - Dysdera crocata), but the mahogany-colored cephalothorax and white abdomen are pretty distinctive. They eat woodlice (hence the name), and can deliver a pretty painful (but not dangerous) bite by all accounts. They're often seen in basements in the fall, as they look for a nice cool place to overwinter.

It looks like a young rust rump wolf spider. I say young because it's not fuzzy. It's not a brown recluse that's for sure so don't freak out about necrotic infections but if you do notice any unusual spots I would have them checked out.

looks like a red legged purseweb spider to me.
