it depends why he is single. If he's single because he's unreliable or a liar or cheat or what not, then yes. If he's single because he is waiting for the right person then no. I will however say that by your late 30's early 40's men(and women) are a bit pickier in choosing a mate because they have gotten used to being their own boss if you know what I mean. Hmm... seems a bit confusing because waiting 4 right one = being picky = being alone. This is one you'll have to discover by getting to know him but, I'm sure you'll get a vibe one way or the other so just be very observant I would say.........

Take things slow... Most men in there upper 30's, lower 40's wont be single for 10 years. Must be a reason why he'll still be single. Is he the outgoing type who had lots of dates but no-one wanted to settle with him ? Was he ever married, and divorced ?
Just take things really slow and you'll figure out if he was a good catch or not !

After my fist marriage I was single for almost 20 years. It's not a bad thing to want to be sure now is it? I'm well over the 15 year mark with this marriage and still very happy. I'm glad that I waited, or I wouldn't be with what I consider to be the best woman in the world!

I knew a guy who rarely dated but was the nicest person in the world. Nothing wrong with him, just shy I guess so it's not always a red flag.

No, not all men get married when they are young. Not all men WANT to get married. I would say it would be more of a red flag if someone ASSumed something was wrong with someone who might decide that marriage isn't for him.

He has probably been waiting for you :) I don't think that this is a red flag, maybe he just hasn't found the right person.

He's been burned, enjoys or is used to life as a single man and may not be willing to change his status!
Enjoy his company and see where it goes- don't lose your heart to quickly.

I would agree with Hannibooboo.

I guess to be with someone you love is important, in my opinion, its better to keep everything simple.

Looking far beyond on doubts is not as important as what you seek him from within. (Its your perspective)

Hoped that helps.
