Make your knots very tight, if they are close together they are less likely to loose shape.

If you used waxed thread and washed it, or it got too warm, the thread will be less sturdy.
If you use thread with no wax your knots are what make the bracelet sturdy and it will not loose shape that easily.
I use embroidery floss for friendship bracelets, and any kind of string for macrame knots, and when the knots are tight they all keep shape, whatever I do with them.

It appears like your knots are actually not tight adequate. try tying them tighter. I constantly had greater success by ability of anchoring my bracelet to something, then making constructive each knot replaced into tight. stable success!!

It sounds like your knots are not tight enough. Try tying them tighter. I always had more luck by anchoring my bracelet to something, then making sure every knot was tight.

Good luck!!
