When used to cure meats, the bugs can't get a hold to dig into the surface, actually kind of slide off. Others are killed due to osmotic pressure but the slide was unique when they found it.

sodium chloride is white in colour, has an ionic bond tt can conduct electricity in water due to free moving ions.

the unique is that it is composed of sodium and chloride ions.

you may want to touch a bit on its biological value. try discussing that from a chemistry point of view. Na+ and Cl- is of critical importance to people's health.
