I know this is a fictional book, but I'm curious if Harry is related to Godric Gryffindor. JK Rowling has mention that Harry/Lily's eye has something to do with the story. Interesting enough, I found out that Godric Gryffindor has green eyes like Harry and Lily. Alnother reason to support this reason is that Harry was able to use the Gryffindor sword (although maybe any Gryffindor can).

Please share any thoughts or comments. Thanks!

By the way I found this info on this website: http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/founders.html

I did a very similar question about a couple weeks ago. Rather than go over everything I said, I'll give you the link so you can see both what I said and the responses I got.

Well, I'm not sure what colour Gryffindor's eyes are, but Harry is not related to Godric Gryffindor. About the sword, Dumbledore said in HP2, chapter Dobby's Reward: "Only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that out of the Hat, Harry". So Harry is the Heir of Godric Gryffindor, like Voldemort is the Heir of Salazar Slytherin, but not a relative.
There are still secrets revealed in the last book, but I don't think (though hopefully wish) that Harry is related to Gryffindor.

I think he might be, we only found out that Voldemort wanted to kill Harry in the 5th book because of the prophecy. Remember Sirius said that Voldemort wanted a weapon that he DIDN'T have before. So maybe before he knew about the prophecy his main reason was to kill Harry was because that he was a descendant of Godric Gryffindor. Hagrid also said in COS that there's hardly a wizard that isn't a pureblood. Someone in the blood line of Godric Gryffindor could be a muggle. Which might explain why Lily was a muggle and had magical powers.

Well, either way Godric Gryffindor is going to be of some importance. His parents lived in Godric's Hollow, for cryin' out loud. Also, remember, Lily Evans was a MUGGLE BORN witch. She couldn't be a direct descendent of Gryffindor's, so her eyes dont mean much in relation to Godric's, but Harry's alikeness to her eyes is supposed to be important.

You'll just have to wait a week, and so will I! Can't wait!

It is very interesting that Godric Gryffindor has green eyes. And yes, JKR did mention that Harry having his mother's eyes is significant. After all, anytime anyone meets Harry, they comment on how much he looks like James, but has his mother's eyes.
However, I thought that somewhere I had read that JKR said that Harry isn't related to any of the four founders. I'm not positive that I read that, but I thought I did.....
Anyway, thanks for the interesting theory!! We'll find out on Saturday, when the last book comes out! WOOHOO!!!
