I tried to when I was 22. My life was not going the way I thought it was suppose to be going. My g/f broke up with me after 4 years. I found out that she cheated on me. I wanted to marry her after we graduated. I "brainwashed" myself so much. I couldn't see myself living without her and it hurt so much. I was living in an apartment by myself and my life was empty without her. I had changed my major for the 3rd time and it was like starting over again. I took sleeping pills, but my brother had called me about ten minutes after I took them. I told him, he called 911 and stayed with me in the hospital and talked.
10 years later, I am over her, I have graduated from college, and I am married with kids. Life is good now. My wife is my Rock.

Yes. A girl I was very close to 3 years ago. She had a drug problem and her family had pretty much turned there backs on her, She told me she would take her life on her birthday because she had nothing else to live for. I even tried to talk to her about the possibility of heaven and hell. She said "even if there was a God he wouldn't punish someone like her". I went so far as to contact authorities and a psychiatrist decided she was "just acting childish". The day that she told me she would do it she walked out in front of a train. :0(

I lost one of my close friends to suicide when I was sixteen.

She was very unhappy at the time. She was having problems at home, and problems with her boyfriend, and had been having trouble with depression and drugs. I am not sure if she had meant to do it. Maybe it was a cry for help... we will never know.

It hit everyone hard...

My ex-husbands sister did. She shot herself in the chest and died. She was 16, pregnant and afraid to tell his parents. Thats what they found out afterwards. What a hard lesson huh? She had a twin sister too............The twin is now in her 40's and has never been the same. My husband was the one that found her, he was 9. He said he will never forget the sound coming out of her mouth, like gurgling he said.......or the sight. We had only talked about it once or twice, its hard on the people left in the world..........always thinking what if? I can't even imagine...........

2 people - my aunt (by marriage) shot herself - she was addicted to painkillers. My Uncle's boss set himself on fire, he didn't die instantly and the coroner estimated that he laid there suffering for about 5 hours before he finally died - no one knows why he did it.

Two.

They didn't say anything. Or, they did but we thought what we wanted to think instead of trying to figure out what they were saying & why.
