i dont really believe there is... asurion.. which is the insurance provider for most cell phone carriers, does not have insureance for at least the first year if it was just introduced to the market.. i have worked closely with cell companies and they dont tell u when u first get your phone if it was a phont that was jus added, it is only covered under th 1 yr warrant that it comes with when u buy it, and that is not for damage caused by u , but any defect to the phone, it may be at least christmas if noit later before the company adds the phone to its policies

~also, i dont think it is worth the money: insurance or not!!!

Sorry but Cingular (A T&T) does not offer any insurance program to cover the cost of the iphone. Think about it, if everyone wanted another iphone, they would technically call in and pretend to say their phone was damage to get another brand new phone. For this reason, the iphone does not have any insurance coverage.

yes, there is insurance... is it worth it? well it depends on how you use your phone and what you are worried about the most. AppleCare insurance is available, but only if you buy the device at an Apple store. This covers a batter replacement and protects against manufacturer's defects. What it DOESN'T cover is cracks on the touch screen, SIM card error, Loss or Theft. AT&T doesn't offer insurance for the device -- its considered a Smartphone/PDA and to AT&T, it is far too expensive to them to fix/replace this device. So they jsut don't offer it.

So what are your concerns? if you are cautious about your phone's operations or are you afraid of being mugged for it? I say get the AppleCare, just for the Battery replacement that's bound to be needed....
