i love to shop in them, i find all kinds of things , i love it when people come over & see the unique treasures ive found!! i have glass heaters, antique fans, old phones, old lights & lamps, several things!! & all work & look very nice...oh, & the best 1.00 i ever spent was on an antique ceiling fan, it will blow you right out of the house!!.lol, it works so good!! all wood & brass, just beautifull!

My husband doesn't like stopping at garage sales as much as he does going to the Goodwill or some Salvation Army shops. He goes once a week to check out new inventory at the Goodwill. It seems he can't just go in and look, he has to bring something home as well LOL. Now he looks for new, wrapped in celophane, VCR tapes of old movies he's enjoyed but wants to see again. He's really increased his collection since video stores have cleared them out and the Goodwill sells them from a dollar to two dollars. You never know what you'll find in resale shops. It's a hunt for buried treasure in a sense. Finding a bargain is the ultimate goal. Especially on something you can really use. Quite often my husband, who's pretty lucky at finding things of quality, will bring home a camera and he will sell it to a camera shop owner he knows. So he can pick up a few extra dollars that way. Often things are mis marked, so he will scoop up bargains like that every time he can. Too many people seem to shop at the thrift stores now. So that when we do run across a bargain, we feel lucky that no one else discovered it before we did. There are regular shoppers now. And people are well dressed who shop and talk on their cell phones while scanning the racks. I heard a guy answer his cell, as if he was at work. How he slipped out I don't know, but he made out that he had to check on something and get back to whoever he was talking with. I heard a similar conversation from a well dressed woman once while she was really going through a rack of blouses. She was giving work orders to someone on the phone. And told them she'd be back in the office at a certain time, lying to them about where she was, of course. I guess the thrift stores are a great place to be, even on a work day LOL.

I shop at antique shops. I've bought a few great furniture pieces and dishes.
I've stopped at a thrift store and a consignment shop, but didn't buy anything. I've never been to a garage sale.

Sure. Yes, I have found bargains. Paid $2.50 for a dress for church that I wear often. Got my best sweater for 75 cents.

Granddaughter found a fiber optic lamp that had a 25 cent price tag, and the lady running the garage sale said she could have it for free.

I began shopping in these type stores years ago when I was still in college and when my husband and I were first starting out and couldn't afford much "new" stuff, and I still love being able to hunt for that bargain. And, often, you can find things in these places that you wouldn't be able to find at the conventional stores in my area.

Sure. I find brand name Aeropostale, Abercombie, Nine West and other awesome deals for pennies on the dollar, in excellent if not new condition! I love bargains!
