They're good, but not as good as the Angels. However, it is surprising to see this surge of a year out of them. What I still don't get is why everyone is making a big deal of Ichiro making $100 million. He deserves it! He gets on base... which last time I checked, is what the leadoff hitter is supposed to do. He can steal 2nd base a staggering amount of the time and to see him swipe 3rd isn't out of the question. But even if he's on 2nd, that's scoring position. That's where you need someone to drive him in, wether it be the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th spot which is why I think the Mariners aren't quite a comeplete team.

The Mariners are a solid team in a weak AL west, nix the Angles. They have hung around despite having a team ERA near 4.50. If Ichiro can stay hot and if Richie Sexson can start swing the bat better, look for the M's to be in the wild card race till the end.

They are for real both in the West and the Wild Card. They beat the Red Sox in a series last month and started off on the right foot with the Tigers today. They have been getting decent pitching, which is necessary since their guns of Beltre, Sexson and Guillen misfire more than they come through. They still have plenty of games left with the division leading Angels.

All I can say about the seattle mariners is that they are a training camp for the other 29 teams anyone that they get is good they trade them in a couple of years.

um, you must have never heard of Ichiro............he is real and really good at that.as for the rest of them im not really sure yet. but they're doing pretty good 1/2 way through this season and could give the angels a good run for thier money i think. thats only if they can get it all together. considering they dont have a 20 homerun hitter and stuff like the other teams i think they can be contenders.

Yea, they've got a solid pitching staff and some decent hitters. Nothing spectacular, aside from Ichiro, but the guys get the job done. The Angels aren't like the Tigers, Indians, or Red Sox, so catching them won't be as difficult.

I feel the Mariners are good mostly because of ICHIRO other then that they have quite a few more years before they're WS contenders.
GO TIGERS! (The Tigers on the other hand will be good in years to come. :)

I think so. All they need is decent starting pitching to be playoff contenders. Their O could use some help, but it's fine for now
