I'm driving a '00 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi (supercharged for those who don't know), and I'd like to get a better tone out of it. I have Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flows on there right now. They sound ok, but I'm looking for a deeper, more...growly tone. Is there any way I can make my car sound a little tougher? I'd like it to sound like a nice Mustang or Camaro. Not insanely loud, but definitely a more aggressive tone. Any ideas?

Just as an added note, I used to work with a girl who drove a V6 Mustang (what a waste having anything other than a V8 stang). She had exhaust work done and it sounded like a V8. I wish I had asked her what she had done to it, but at that time I drove a truck and didn't care, lol.

A buddy of mine owns a 2003 Grand Am GT (3400), and a friend with a 2003 Grand Prix GTP (3800 supercharged) both of them have been though SEVERAL exhaust systems. Some like the flowmaster, have been better than the various fart can systems. But they always sound like a V6. Sorry, but thats kinda how it works.

No, because of the funeven fireing order on a v-6 it will never sound "like" a v-8. if you are finding that with the flowmasters you are a little too raspy sounding and want it lower, go back to the shop and have them put a resonator before the muffler, it will take the sharpness off of the sound and mellow it out some.

My brother has a 1991 Cadillac Sedan Deville with the 4.9 liter V8 which has a stock sound a little tiny bit deeper than most larger V6s (such as yours) and he has put a Camaro dual exhaust system on his car and now it's loud as hell.

I suggest you try that route, as it will almost definitely give you a deeper sound because of the exhaust being damn near a straight-pipe as far as muffling goes.

Thank God that car's gonna be mine! W00T!!!

Yes you can, Hush Thrust Exhaust system will give you that deep sound. The fact is you engine only runs on one cylinder at a time. Good Luck and GOD Bless

You could ask the pontiac dealer if they make a factory cat back system for your car. This exhaust system plus the supercharger should give you a better sound.

Sorry. You need a V8 for it to sound like one.

A 3.8 v6 can't have the rumble, but hey... for a V6 they ain't bad.
