I've read tons of summaries, and I haven't found an anime series that I would enjoy. Many people also recommended things, but none of it interested me. To make it simple, I shall list few series in which I have enjoyed.

I am NOT... I repeat NOT... N-O-T... looking for anime series along the lines of Bleach, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist. Not looking for that type. GOD
I also do not enjoy watching anime series that cuts off in the middle such as Fruits Basket and Gakuen Alice and then you would have to read the manga. Thus, DO NOT recommend any of those.
Don't recommend anime that is not fully subbed or manga without anime.
Please do keep in mind that I enjoy shoujo along with fantasy, in which you should have noticed after I listed all those series.

That's a pretty tough list there...
The only thing I can think of is Chobits. Its a love story that's also pretty funny at times.
Its about a young man "Hedeki" who moves from the country to Tokyo for cram school. Tokyo in this story is a little ahead of the times where they have created robots (actually they are more like walking computers) or "persacons" maybe its "persacoons" anyways these robots are all female (not sure why) and look and act just like real women.
The story is about Hedeki and life in the big city and wishing not to be the only one that doesn't have his own persacon. He later finds one, a very special one (cant tell you why) and now lives a very different life.
Heres the trouble, Hedeki was told not to fall in love his his persacon. See what happens. Its a really nice story.

i just recently went through this but based on what you've seen so far try chobits / ranma 1/2 and peach girl! I might think of some more... hope this helps for now!
