It refers to the intense navel battles that occurred during world war such as the sinking of the Bismark and the battle at Midway. As a WW2 vet I am personally offended that a young whippersnapper such as yourself think its appropriate to where a shirt that refers to the sinking of a battle ship. I myself was on board the battleship Arizona when it was sunk I lost 144 friends,12 best friends, and 157 casual acquaintances when it went down. They made a board game about my experiences called battleship it was a moderate hit in the nineteen eighty's

It's the slogan from the Game BATTLESHIP. The other player slaps his head and cries in frustration You sank my battleship. If there is a space between the words Battle and ship that is obviously a typo.

It is a reference to the popular board game Battleship. One says this when their opponent has discovered all the coordinates to a ship piece set upon your board before the start of the game. If all the coordinates are called to a set piece, they've 'sunk your battleship'. That phrase was popularized by an old commercial for the game.

it was a line from a commercial back in the day for the game battleship in which the objective was to guess and determine your opponents ships. The biggest ship you had was called your battleship hence the title of the game

As mentioned, it probably from the game. But, being on a woman's t-shirt I will assume it have a sexual connotation meaning you have been stuck by a torpedo. :-p
