if the scutes (loose shell sections) are fully loose you can remove them - but dont try to force them off before the shell underneath is ready to be exposed. Make sure your turtle has plenty of acces to both clean water and dry land (if it is a water turtle lol) and that you have a plant light or sunlight for it to be able to convert vitamin D from it's food

your turtle is not stressed, that's a dumb thought... turtles, like EVERY reptile shed there skin on occasion espectially when growing. I would recommend against peeling it off for him/her. Think about it like peeling off a scab too soon. the shell underneath it isn't quite ready till it falls off. she/he will be fine. just let nature take it's course.

No, just like peeling sunburn that is not ready to come off causes you pain if you try anyway, 'forcing' a shed will cause problems.

Let it happen naturally- but try to figure out why it is happening. If you are seeing shedding, the turtle is usually pretty stressed.

no i wouldnt i would just softly scrub it with a toothbrush to clean it i have to remember that the shell it a part of them pull to much then u might get raw meat
