Breaking my nose.?

Question

Ok so, well first off ive never broken my nose, i was born with a crooked nose though, i want a straight one but im too young(im 16) for plastic surgery which brings me to my question:

if i broke my nose then had a doctor set it straighter than it previously was, would it heal straight or would it just be crooked again. Has anyone done this?

Depending on where your nose was broken and whether or not it was "fixed" by a plastic surgeon or not, the end result could be much worse than you started with.
There is an alternative. Go to an Ears, Nose and Throat Specialist. If the bend in your nose affects how you breathe it may be repaired under either Medicare or Health Insurance as a Health Procedure, rather than a cosmetic one. But you will still end up with a straighter nose.

I don't know if this answer will help or not but my older brother was born was a crooked nose bone and he had to get surgery because it gave him breathing troubles and after the surgery his nose and the crookedness of it was the exact same so I don't think that breaking your nose would work. Just try to be happy with who you are! You look great already! Hope this helps =)

First of all, I see absolutely nothing wrong with your nose. If you were to break it on purpose, you'd just make it worse. If fixing it means that much to you, wait two years and save up a heck of a lot of money and have it fixed. The only way a doctor would fix it now is if it's making your breathing difficult. Sorry.

You are so cute! Um, that would be bad, your nose would grow a tad from swelling, and there is no guarentee that the crook would go away. Just wait till your 18 to get it done. To fix that you would probably have to have it chiseled. I have a kind of weird nose, so I'm waiting till I'm 18 to get it fixed.

my dad broke his nose when he was around that age. he had a bump on it before which just means it was bigger and when the doctor set it, the bump went away once it healed. so i think tht if u break ur nose and they set it straight it'll stay that way. i dont suggest u break ur nose just to make it prettier. that would hurt a lot. and i think your nose is fine

well from someone elses point of veiw, its not that bad, a lot of my friend have noses like that, but FYI, they aren't called crooked, they are called ski jump noses! don't worry, don't go through all the money, pain, and suffering, and fear just to change your appearance!

DONT break your nose!!! it will prolly look worse...
have u even tryed talking to a plastic surgeon .. chances are they will do it.. my friend is 16 and she had surgury on her ears because they stuck out... i would talk to your parents and go for a consultation and if all else fail say that its starting to give u breathing trouble! they will have to fix it

NO! if you broke your nose thenall that would happen is your nose would get a huge bump in it. your nose isnt really that bd so i say dont worry

your nose is fine! dont go breaking it just becuase! actually, your kind of nose is attractive, i think it makes you look very original if you know where i am going with this! you are gorgeous! please dont break your nose, it will ruin your face.
