i answered this last night, it's up to you how to slow down, slow down to like 1,500 RPM's and shift to 3rd then go to 1,500 RPM's and downshift to 2nd.. and there you go..

for the merging into traffic.. just drive like you normally would just PRACTICE PRACTICE PRATICE, it's not that hard to learn.

Take your foot off the gas and hit the brakes. When you get close to the 25mph then push in the clutch and downshift to second gear, or third if you are planning on staying at 25mph and just cruising. The second gear is if you are planning on acclerating again.

question #2

During normal merging onto freeway, I try and pick an open spot and accelerate so that I am up to speed and will fit into the space that I saw was open.
If traffic is bumper to bumper, then I slowly go up the ramp with my left turn signal on and when I get to a point that the ramp and the freeway begin to merge and you can change lanes, I will stop and wait for someone to let me in to traffic. Most people are friendly enough to let you in, as long as you don't try to run to the end of the merge lane and force your way in, trying to beat out cars that have been waiting in line. Those people I don't let it, unless they force themselves into my lane and I don't want to wreck my truck.. Another good tip is to look at what the driver in front of you is doing and do the same. good luck.
