You can get the best advise from your dance teacher. Ask her, unless your teacher is a guy. She knows what you look like, and she knows how to do the makeup.
How old are you? If I recall correctly, there are restrictions on makeup for pre-teens. No glitter is allowed for sure. (Ahh, glitter is out these days anyway.) A makeup that's too heavy looks artificial, like a mask on your face, especially if you're very young.
Here is a few general tips:
-Experiment a few days in advance before the comp. Figure it all out beforehand.
- If you're dancing both Lating and Standard make sure your makeup work well with either dress. Standard makeup tends to be a little more conservative than Latin, but there is a good middle ground.
- Do not wear bright red lipstick unless your dress is bright red. It stands out too much. Wear a color that you'd normally wear, but a little more intense. Most adult people need to use lip liner to make their lips look bigger. Draw the line slightly outside, experiment, see what part you should exagerate. But lip liner doesn't look good if you're very young - say, if you are too young to wear makup in real life.
- If you wear mascara to a formal evening in normal life - you should wear fake eyelashes. The exception is if you're too young or if you have astonishingly long and rich eyelashes and really big eyes.
Fake eyelashes is the last step of eye makeup, you should do the liner and eye shadows first.
- If you're wearing fake tan you'll have to make your face look tanned as well. You can use special fake tanner for the face, or use dark makeup. I prefer waterproof makeup to face tanners, because tanner is drying my skin and because I have a lot more control with the final color results when I use makeup, and on top of that, I don't scare my collegues the next day cause I can wash it off. Your face can be a little lighter than your body.
- Experiment. Your makeup can be a lot more than just "more of the usual stuff". For example, you can apply eyeshadow past the eye bone all the way to your temple, but it doesn't look good on everyone. You can try bright green or blue eyeliner on the outer part of your upper eye lid - something you'd never do in real life.
-Experiment with light eyeshadow - you can use it in unexpected ways like above your eye brow, outer corner or in the lower inner corner of your eye. Experiment with blush - you can put it very lightly at the hair line.
-Try to go to a makeup counter at a store. Sometimes their assistants are available to do a makeup for you. Thell them that you want a new makeup for a dance competition. It is not guaranteed that they will do a good job, because some of them really have no clue, but what they do can give you a lot of ideas.
I never found anything relevant on the web, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

Although I'm a guy, I still know a little about this. I've been competing for 11 years. Fake eyelashes are a must. Darker tones are better. If you haven't tanned, then tanning lotion, or what I call a stain is available. But also remember this. While your dress and makeup are important to competition, don't let it distract you from preparing to dance well. I'm assuming, due to the nature of your question, you are new to competing. Be sure to have fun regardless of your makeup. Dance well and smile big. That is more important than the makeup. As you do it more, you will learn about the makeup. If you see another dancer in the dressing room who looks friendly, I'm sure she would be willing to give you a few pointers as well.

when i did hip hop competitions i would use blues, and also do a smoky eye. Smokey goes with pretty much any outfit unless you are wearing all white, if that's the case you would wear alot of white or silver glitter, glitter is really fun for competition, mac has a HUGE line of shadows, glitters, eyeliners and lipsticks. Make sure you wear a really bright lipstick or else it won't look like you have lips on stage.
fake eyelashes are a must for competition, and i would say glitter is also :)

Depends on the color of your dress really. I would personally go with the smokey eyes, they match with anything. You can't go wrong with smokey eyes! Also put on a light sparkly lip gloss/balm so your lips won't be dry. Also use a bit of pink blush, and you should look amazing!
Go here to learn how to do the eyes, very simple! I hope you do well, good luck!
