I saw the movie when I was a kid. I am now 35 years old and would like to see it again.

Although many may say it was Clash of The Titans...
The movie that comes to mind is: "The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao"
This is the one in which Tony Randall played seven different parts.
From Dr. Lao/ Merlin/ Pan/ Abominable Snowman/ Medusa/Giant Serpent/ Apollonius of Tyana - The Fortune Teller/ and an Audience member.
This was a great movie shown on late night TV way back when; but has little if ever been seen since. Pity, eh?!

Yes, she is the red haired witchy villain in "The Rescuers" and has 2 pet alligators. Penny is the little girl that is an orphan and she kidnaps her to put her down in a cave to find a special diamond. The mice are part of the Rescue Aid Society and are sent to save the girl.
There is a second movie called "The Rescuers Down Under" and it is set in Australia.
Both very cute movies!
But it could be a character in another movie also= not sure!

Clash of the Titans.
Did the hero use a shield to see her around corners? Was it insanely cheezy, but oh so entertaining? That's the movie.

Not sure if this is the answer you need, but I think Medusa was the name of the villian in "The Rescuers". It's the story of the orphan girl and the mice who are sent to, (what else?) rescue her.
