my friend is totally playing me. we were like BEST FRIENDS spent all of our time together in school. until she started dating someone. she totally like just forgot about me. of course she'd always talk to me in the halls but its not the same.

However, days that he's absent she all of a sudden wants to hang with me. we also lost touch over the phone. all she does is talk to him. but when hes away to the country for the summer she all of a sudden calls me. its like she uses me and picks me up only when she needs me.

what do i do?

ps. she still claims me as her BFF

Tell her exactly what you just said. Either she is your friend all of the time, OR NOT. You are not there for her entertainment. If she still fluffs you off or denies it, be busy from now on.

Exact same thing happened to me. Some people are really shallow. Me and this girl had been best friend for ten years, then all of a sudden she just stopped calling me and had nothing to do with me because she had a boyfriend. The only times she would speak to me was when he was absent. Then, a few months later when he broke up with her she acted like nothing had even happened and tried to be all buddy buddy with me. If your friend is acting like that then don't put up with it. She'll just keep doing it over and over again. Talk to her and if she still acts like you don't exist then find yourself a new friend.

Tell her how you feel. Be happy she has a relationship that is so important to her but remind her that friendship takes a little time and effort to maintain!

That sucks. Happens to me too.
She's not dropping you, persay, she just likes her boyfriend better.
Tell her she's a dipshit, and that maybe you won't be around anymore when her boyfriend dumps her.

let her know how you feel, she is most probably so caught up in her own little world she doesn't even realise she is doing it. the first throes of any new relationship seem to do that to people.
