just go mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune.
Mercury, really small and hot close to the sun
(closest to sun) reddish orangish in colour
Venus, really thick atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide
(earth neighbour on the closer side to the sun). Actually even hotter than Mercury because of the thick atmosphere. Traps heat. greenish colour
Mars, red planet, we send probes there
(earth neighbour on the other side).
Jupiter, next planet, the largest, big red spot, really thick burning carbon dioxide and methane atmosphere
(we tried to send a probe through it, but it burnt out) There is a constant storm and several volcanoes on the planet.
Saturn, planet with the rings, has several moons, we sent a probe there recently, one of the moons titus has liquid methane on the surface most likely.
Uranus (Ur anus) This planet is actually tilted on its side, possibly due to an asteroid collision disrupting its gravity.
This planet has huge, and I mean huge winds, impossible to survive. You cannot golf here, haha.
Neptune (think of the god of the sea, water fountain statue etc.) One of its moons, encelladus spews out liquid nitrogen springs (think of hot springs), but this is deathly freezing. Blue in colour
Pluto, well, no one really calls this a planet anymore, it's so small.
Either flat out lay out the information, or use the first letters to make it a word. The easiest is to make pictures of the planets for me. I can visually describe by size, and by colour of the planets. Helps with the order. Also, start off with the earth's neighbours, then learn about the closest planets to the sun, and learn about the furthest planets from the sun.

This is a common trick: http://www.uvm.edu/~vbharath/planetorder.html
But, you realize that Pluto has been downgraded and isn't considered to be a planet any more.
