Having more white blood cells does not mean it will cause an infection. Having more white blood cells usually indicate that you might have had an infection or an allergy depending on what kind of white blood cell was present. But to answer your question irregular periods are caused by stress, family history, and lack of exercise, hormonal problems. What I would recommend though is that you should go on birth control they will make your periods regular.

You don't say how old you are, if you are a teen, the irregularity is normal. If you are an adult there could be several things going on.

Do you have multiple sexual partners? Are you on oral birth control? Are you taking any other medications? Have you had a full pelvic exam recently?

There are a number of things- you could be stressed, be diabetic, or have polycystic ovary or endometriosis. Really and truly you need to get yourself to the doctor. Check in your area- a lot of time the health clinic will do a free pap and examination.

Stress will cause this problem. So will a gain or loss of weight, or a bodyfat percentage that is generally too high or too low. Sometimes bioflavonoid deficiencies cause this too. You can get bioflavonoids in citris fruit skin, cherries, grapes, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, canteloupe, apricots, and papaya.

Could be stress or thyroid. When they did blood test, was it just a pregnancy test or did they test thryroid levels? You could probably get it done pretty cheap at Planned Parenthood.

I also had irregular periods for years. it was caused by a tumor on my pituitary gland ( brain tumor). you really need to see a doctor. when it comes to your health, cost really should not be a question. P.S. I'm on medication to shrink the tumor and now have regular periods.
