When I go to turn on my computer all the lights and fans start to run and so do all of the drives but thats all it does. It won't start up I noticed that my video card's fan is running really fast which it has never done befor. There were no signs of any problems leading up to this, I simply turned it off and when I tried to turn it back on later It didn't start I think its my video card because my monitor doesn't display anything when I turn it on. Could someone please tell me what has happened or even better how to fix it?

Unplug PC, then open the case. Unlock then pull out your video card. Inspect it for burnt smell, leaking capacitor (chemical smell) or burn marks on the contact pins. If everything checks out OK, clean the contact pins with the eraser tip of a pencil. Reinstall the video card. If you still get a blank screen, try the video card in another PC before you condemn it to the thrash bin.

well your wrong. the computer is starting up, you are just not geting a display. if you have the means to get a new video card then try it or if you have the old one put it back in and see if you have a display. so computers have a VGA port on the back that can not be taken off, if yours has that then plug your moniter into it instead of your gra. card. then you should get a pic. if not then you might want to try taking it to a computer store and having them look over it. if you do get a display then look in to buyin a new card. you might have shorted out yours or fried it all together.

If you think is your Video card you could take n old one and install it on your pc then turn it back on. I would check that all your connection are ok. Make sure the video card is seated properly. It can also be your PSU that has gone bad.
