yeah they were funny. you should check out this funny youtube video--i think it's jack sparrow verizon commercial. this guy who impersonates Jack says "bring me that horizon" he is handed a cell phone. says " i said horizon, not Verizon" the phone rings and they go through the whole can you hear me now thing, after a few times he's like "i can bloody hear ya, mate!!"
dude also does a cereal commercial spoof "the only cereal you can eat with rum" he's not half bad!!

Personally, *I* miss the times when "everyone" didn't have to have a cell phone "growing out of his/her ear"! If it were possible, I'm sure Alexander Graham Bell would be rolling over in his grave, having the latest development of his invention misused in such an inconsiderate, dangerous and unnecessary manner, so much of the time!
