Because he does not feel that is the correct thing to do at this juncture.

There are things our government must do to bolster our security on the homeland, to protect our economic freedom and ability to travel the world free from harm and to ensure our freedoms for generations to come. This does not come easily or without sacrafice.

You must not forget that on 9-11-2001 we were attacked and over 3,000 innocent Americans were killed. The terrorists chose non-military targets, chose the heart of our country, chose to kill innocent men, women & children, chose to strike our economic core, chose to attack during the day to maximize casualties and chose to escalate this conflict.

I do believe we need to make changes in our fight, we need to unleash our military and stop playing politics.

I think we need to stay the course in Iraq...because it is strategically necessary to box in Iran on the Afghan and Iraq sides. Just because people like to hug trees, chase rainbows, and cut down greenhouse gasses doesnt impress islamic extremists or lessen the threat to our country. Anybody that doesn't think we are fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here should really reconsider their opinion. Most of the funding and weaponry we are encountering in Iraq comes directly from Iran. President Bush should be held accountable for lying about the reasons we went there and for not doing his job by laying out the case for the war with the citizens who would be funding and fighting the battles, but that by no means lessens the danger if we don't do something about it over there. I mean, if somebody throws a baseball at you, you don't wait until it hits you in the eye to throw up an arm and catch it...same principle I believe.

According to a report that I saw earlier today, 3,610 of them have come back. In body bags. And don't forget about the thousands (26,000+) who are coming home wounded.

For those who are fortunate enough not to get killed or injured, they get extended tours of duty.

Well, if he was to do that it would cost his party for the next upteen year in politics. Everytime an election came around, the Dems would use that againts them. More less giving somebody a knife and allow them to stab you over and over, thou not enough to kill you. Just to stab you and inflict mass amounts of pain.
