Ethics seem to be a problem. Economics are no longer their forte if it ever was and foreign policy seems to be a fiasco.

I guess that means they are going to stick to fear factor.

Well, Republicans, Just what are you running on?

Republicans and ethics go together like oil and water. They just never seem to mix, and the pollution kills everything in its way.

The republicans are running on empty promises and vapors.

It's obvious that both political parties have ethical and moral issues. That being said, the Republican party was put into office by the religious right. The holier-than-thou positions that these legislators take make it even more outrageous when another one is found to be a sinful hypocrit. As they try to legislate morality, maybe they should do a little personal soul searching.

Or did they just say they were strong Christians to get elected by the fundamentalist block of voters? Nah, they wouldn't lie, would they?

Everybody wants to believe what they want to believe (even Lionel Richie). A majority voted for Republicans because they thought GOPers were less evil and conniving than Dems. A few righteous eejits like this Senator don't make them all bad (being politicians makes them bad). Dems/GOPers will only straighten up with serious 3rd party challenge. If you want to see corruption in flower, check out the ex-Mayor of Newark still pulling down $49k/year as a State Senator, able to pull out $500k from a $1.1mm nest egg in teaching post retirement fund (while he was mayor the school board continually exempted him to allow him to accrue more retirement bennies...oh, and he was the sole-listed executive on a group that sold a builiding in Newark for $3mm (?) while he was mayor.

Yes, he was elected and re-elected "to help the poor".

That's true of almost all political parties, not just the republicans. If you want that to change, then involve yourself in political debates. Write letters to your editor. Ask the television stations to report on how candidates stand on certain issues that are important to you.

Those are fake conservatives. You know, like George bush. He is a fake conservative who campaigned on conservative values, but now that he is in, he is pro-amnesty, big spender, starting a NAU, and started a war.
