Because the 'Harry is a Horcrux theory' is all on the rage now. Many people think that Harry will sacrifice himself, in order to destroy Voldemort's last Horcrux, which would be in Harry if the theory is correct. With Harry dead and the last Horcrux destroyed, Voldemort will be vulnerable and will be able to be defeated easier.
However I don't believe in that theory, I don't think JKR would write seven books about this one guy, and set it up that only that one guy can kill this evil baddie, only to kill the one guy off and instead have someone else kill the evil baddie. It just seems unfeasible to me, as well as it being a let-down and a bit anticlimactic...

Because people are really taking the prophecy too literally. It states that "neither can live while the other survives". Harry certainly hasn't been doing much living these last few books! His life has been consumed by Voldemort and the crises that have followed from his return. Voldemort, likewise, has had to spend an awful lot of time on Harry that he probably would like to spend otherwise.
Of course Voldemort is going to die in the last book (because really now, what epic sagas end without the bad guy being defeated) but I don't really understand all the trendy theories that end in Harry's death. They just seem to be stretching it!

Some think Harry, or at least his scar, is a horcrux. Not the case as Voldemort was going to make his sixth and final horcrux after killing Harry and Dumbledore believes Nagini was made a horcrux after Voldemort failed to kill Harry. Then there are some pointing to the prophecy. But the last line of the prophecy specifically states "And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives." In otherwords, it's possible for either one to go on living as long as the other one dies.

I definitely don't think he has to die to kill voldemort; the prophecy said "each can not live while the other survives" so that just implies one has to die. But some people are guessing that Harry's scar is a horcrux, and so he'll have to die for Voldemort to die. I guess we won't know until the book comes out!

Because of the prophecy... Maybe Harry will die killing Voldemort... Maybe they will die at the same time... Who knows? How about we all wait for the last book to come out.. It's only about a week away anyway...
Ohh and I don't think Harry is a Horcrux. I mean, think about it... Voldemort think of Harry as his enemy, so, do you honestly think that he would put a bit of his precious soul into Harry? Just think about it and analyze it for a bit....

As the prophecy states, one cannot live while the other dies, so they must both die, or neither. as it is voldemort has drinken the unicorn blook (from year one) so how can he die?
Harry potter is a childrens book but, they dont always have happy endings. ex. the bridge to teribithia. and jk rowling might not want anyone to continue when she dies and the copyright expires. THIS IS THE MOST CONFUSING STORY LINE my guess is that harry will die and voldemort will be less of a person again. i think it will have a dark ending

Because some retard suggested the stupid theory, and like all people do, the small minded without even thinking about it latched onto the idea without even stopping to analize why it's impossible for Harry Potter to die to kill Voldemort.
For one, HARRY CANT DIE AND THEN KILL VOLDEMORT. ITS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE!
For another, that's predictable, and everyone knows that JK Rowling does not write the predictable when it comes to her main plot. For all we know, Dumbledore and Sirius both come back from the dead, and Dumbledore might have really been evil this entire time, and Snape might've been trying to protect Harry from him when he killed him that night. Maybe some people know more than they are letting on to in this series, like Luna Lovegood.
Sorry if I seem rude, I'm just sick of that theory that Harry has to die to kill Voldemort.

I don't. but thew reason a lot o people think harry has to die is because they think that harry is a horcrux, therefore a part a voldemort, so to kill voldemort he needs to kill himself...

Everyone is soooo anxious about this book. Are you going to flip to the last page as soon as you get it to see what happened? Probably not. Why? Cause it would ruin the suspense of the book. Then why does eveyone speculate and try to find the answers early? If someone here did have inside information would you really want to know?
