I was stacking some wood and at first thought it was a small peiece of bark but when I saw it I bout crapped my pants. It had rounded body. I have never in all my life seen anything like it.

It DOES NOT sound like a black widow... they are very shiny and black as black can be! they will have a red or yellow hour glass spot on it too.
I am sure it does have a nasty bite... beware of most spiders!

If it has a red or orangish mark on its belly that looks something like an hour glass, that's a black widow spider and very venomous. Suggest you look around for a web or webs and destroy them. Black widows' webs are very irregular with no specific shape or design to them.

sounds like a black widow, nasty little buggar. got bit by one, got real sick, like the flu. leaves a golf ball size dark bruise on your skin
