I saw the story about how veterans are being with held their right to medical benefits, and wanted to know if there was a group helping, or petition I could sign.

You can contact the Paralyzed Veterans of America to see what you can do. They are nationally active on veterans' rights issues.

A lot of people visulize a veteran as broken down old
man, dressed in an outdated uniform...looking forlorn
and begging the government for alms. I have seen men
actually ashamed to be called 'veteran' because the first
question popped to them...."don't you get an army pension?"
as if the veteran is drawing welfare!

You can get in contact with your local DAV Chapter, they
have the info you need........if you're sincere in wanting to
help....there's not many of you out there!

There are several petitions. Just google them. Also, you can write to your congresspeople and let them know how you feel. You can also contribute to groups such as the NOVA group. NOVA provides legal assistance to veterans.

let people know about the war they were treated in Iraq. They were injected with a cocktail of drugs that did more damage to 220 000 soldiers plus their families, than any "terrorist for." Bush is the terrorist.

It is not as if the government is out to treat people right.
