I had my first film audition sunday the 8th, and it went extremely well. I'm wondering though how long is it for a call back or a final call letting you know you received the part? Normally with theater it's within about 2 days but with film I'm not sure. Some extra info- I'm not union but this was for a union film. I was not local (audition was in Hollywood) but I flew out for the audition and have places to stay for filming should I get the part. Thanks!

I'd say congrats on getting that far, but you most likely didn't book the job. Even though things went well, in all likelihood it came down to your height, your eye color, or the height of the guy playing opposite you... basically something that is out of your control. It's no use obsessing over it. Yes, it sucks, but you just move on to the next thing and be glad that you did a great job on that audition. The upside is that they liked you and may think of you for another project that comes along so don't let it leave you with any bad feelings that you may not get this one role... you may get a better one down the road because of it!

You will get a good idea of how you performed. Your only hope is to do the best you possibly can and take it from there. It is uncertain to know when you will be called back. But if the production has it straight and the amount of actors to be auditioned aren't in the hundreds, you could expect a callback within a month's time. It's show business. There are never any guarantees that even after you're selected you'll be the one they go with or you never know if they call you later down the line. But typically, the above is true.

Typically you hear back in a few days after an audition. It doesn't sound like you got the role.

Thick skin is an actor's best friend... on to the next audition!

There is no time frame. If you don't hear with a few days, assume you did not book the role.
