i have the same problem...I'm a city girl who just moved into Redneckland. Everyone seems like the don't like me, like i'm stuck up to them or something, almost as if my only choice is to assimilate to their ways. I live close to a city as well as a lake though, so i try to go to the mall, or see movies, or go fishing, or rock collecting, or swimming, and things like that when i'm bored. I also try to find people who haven't lived here all their lives to relate to, and have found about a handful here who aren't so quick to judge me.

If the town has a community center or college where they offer adult classes, you could take a class like cooking or pilates or something you are interested in & perhaps meet other people with the same interests as you. Maybe your local library offers some type of classes, too. If there a coffee shop or book shop in this town, that could be another place to meet people. Once your kids return, of course, that's another great way to meet people through their various activities, school, PTA, playgroups, etc. Good luck & contrats on your hubby's new job & your big move!

Get on the computer and talk to people, call relative on the phone, or go out into your new town and meet people. Be friendly and get used to the town! It's where you will be living for a while now! I know what it is like to move to a really small town, but I got used to it and made many friends...unfortunately, I had to move again because of my parents, but hey...you just have to have a positive attitude about it! Hope that helps! :)

Well, you could introduce yourself to your neighbors. If they are you age that is great. If they aren't, & you want someone who is, ask them about popular places people you age go.
You said it is a small town so im sure they'll know.
When you do get your kids back you can take them to the park [if they are of that age where they would want to] & talk to other moms/dad/uncles/aunts/whatever.
Oh & maybe you try jogging through the neighborhood to meet people. There are bound to be people outside in their yards or in the park.
i hope you find some people to hang out with!

there are many things you can do, such as games, reading, housework, music, movies, tv, etc... but if you must insist on meeting people the best way would be go to a party or go clubbing. if you dont feel like going out and leaving your house, you can always use yahoo answers! =) its a great way to meet people.

Go down to main street if you have one there and stop in some of the shops, or better yet go into one of the restaurants...the ones that the locals go to.

bypass. settle for it philosopically, and be happy if he became into going to elect somebody else, that it befell previously WE have been married, than after. possibly, he will do it to "her" down the line. If i ought to discover some rather solid looking guy to be my date for the reception, much extra suitable.
