It is a site I have visited often in the past now it starts to open and then instead of it the google search page comes up. If I use AOL it comes up no problem.

You could also be talking about the Google toolbar. A lot of free programs on the internet come bundled with it (such as Adobe Acrobat or Flash Player). You might have installed it by mistake.
