Illegal wiretapping and the U.S. attorneys scandal are two very strong cases to base an impeachment on. Is it time to impeach or should we wait it out?

GOP trolls need not respond. Who's listening to you anyway? Apparantly not 74% of the nation.

To impeach Bush at this time would be counter-productive. An impeachment this close to an election year would have a disastrous effect on the psyche of the American people and would overshadow the electoral process. It would also install Cheney as president with at least a year to do as much damage as he could get away with.

If you really want to impeach someone and are willing to risk the possible damages described above, it should be Cheney. First, it would be a much easier case to make from a legal standpoint. Secondly, without his puppet master, Bush would be reduced to a neutered, quivering mass, capable only of sitting in the corner drooling and waiting for the end to come.

First off, I'm not a Republican.

I think approval ratings are mostly garbage (should we impeach congress with a lower approval rating?). Those of us on YA are a little more obsessed with current events and politics than the general population. Most people are concerned with yoga, educating their kids, college football, whatever. I doubt most people feel very strongly either way when asked whether they "approve."

Another problem with approval ratings is that the samples are always skewed. I wish I could see a broadcaster announce, "In a survey of 1,643 losers who had nothing better to do than talk to some random stranger on the phone, the President's approval rating is X." Or, "A NYT/CNN poll taken outside of a McDonald's on Park Avenue this afternoon shows..." Or, "a poll taken of people at a shopping mall who were given Baskin Robins gift certificates reveals..."

They are absolute garbage.

Besides, approval ratings are not a cause for impeachment.

At this point it really dose not matter.

Bush will be out of office in less than two years. He is a lame duck president with the congress against him.

At this point instead of fixating on Bush you should be looking forward to the 2008 election and trying to get who you want into office.

It was time to impeach him the minute he launched the first strike invasion of Iraq. Furthermore, anyone who voted for Patriot Act or Military Commissions 2006 should be tried for treason.

One thing I would also like to point out is that Congress also has its lowest approval rating ever.

Bush should be arrested, tried, and executed for treason against the United States and for trashing the Constitution that he was sworn in to protect. The man is a Zionist pig from Hell.
