In a roundabout fashion but I wouldn't express it quite that way ..
I believe that we grow through adversity & hardship ...that our character develops through these trials & through this experience we can find contentment , not necessarily happiness.
Happiness is not usually a long lasting feeling ....it is influenced by external things which come & go !
On the other hand , contentment comes from within ....is a choice we make & is a sign of character!

hardship definately doesnt lead to happiness. happiness cant be "reached" it can only be obtained or achieved.
