It seemed like a gimmick designed to improve attendance. The American League had a pretty boring reputation at that point, and I wondered if it would stick with it. It also seemed odd that the two leagues would have different rules.

I'm still wondering about the rules difference, years later. They should go one way or another -- just pick one.

well first place i was not born but know i think that was makes the AL better than the Nil

AL rocks. DH's or not we kick the NL's *** 7 out of then times. Which is 70-30 if you wanna put it in persepctive.

It was a gimmick, wish it never would have happened.
