♥ Well my mom had a myspace account so first I changed my page to bi then lesbianand when she came home boy did I hear it. She wanted to know what that was supposed to mean, how did I know for sure?, that it was just a phase, etc etc etc. She was soo angry at first... she didnt know what to think. Then she went through sadness and denial. Wondering if she could have raised me better so I wouldnt be gay, wondering if she would stay have grandchildren, etc. She took it hard for awhile, but now 15 months into my fiance & I's relationship she has come to terms with it, she is helping us plan our wedding and even came into a gay store with us! :-)
♥ Just sit them down or write them a letter and tell them... they might take it hard at first or they might laugh and say what took you so long to come out!
Good Luck!

When I came out I told my brother I was bi and then shortly changed it to lesbian. He told everyone within the same day and everybody said that they already knew

I just came out and told them, took me a long time. I told them when I was around 23 years of age and had just broken up with my first gf. I needed comforting, and honestly wanted it from my mom. My sister had already made the road a little easier by coming out before me.

Well it took me nearly a decade to tell my parents. I only told them I was a lesbian when I was 21. It was only when I got a girlfriend, who I'm still with, and knew that was who I was I told them.
In my family we have been told to write things down if we are worried we are going to leave things out. I think they knew I was gay - just didn't want to admit it.
Anyway I poured my heart out in the letter. Saying I was gay, have a girlfriend, told them about her, told them it doesn't change who I am, told them I still love them, told them that I was much happier in myself now.
You could probably tell your parents these things if you are better with remembering everything you want to say to them. I wish I could have told them face to face. Good Luck!

There is a good chance your parents already know. If you think they will be OK with it just tell them. On the other hand, if they absolutely won't like it then take it slowly.

Um, I just did. I said "Mom, Dad...I'm gay and I've been seeing _ _ _ _."
They both smiled and said:"Uh..yeah..and your point is? What took you so long to figure that out?"
Really it was no big deal to my parents. Even though I was terrified at what they might say. It took me until I was nearly 30yrs old to finally come out to anyone...let alone myself.
I found out I was upset over nothing.
They love me, they support me, they adore my partner.
I couldn't ask for more!
