I am an allstar cheerleader, so we practice year-round.
It's required that flyers know how to do bow & arrow, scorpions, heel stretch, liberty, scales, and tumbling.

You should know how to do all of that stuff. It's beg./int. stuff
Freshman: about 16
Varsity: about 18

My team is elementary/middle school, so they do not have all those skills yet. My purpose is to train them so that they are ready for high school. The only time we can practice over summer is before cheer camp, after that I have to wait until September to work with them again.

As far as team size in high school it depends on a lot of factors: how many uniforms, how many coaches, how many kids the coaches want on their team, what they are allowed under state or league rules, etc etc.

yes, every cheerlreader should know how to do all that.

yes, my team practices over the summer. we had tryouts in like march, i think....

if theyre just cheering at the football games, it doesnt really matter at my school. but if theyre in the routine for competitions around 20, 16 on the mat and about 4 alternates.

and im not sure about the freshman team, b/c we only have a jv and varsity at our school.

hope i helped w/ anything you needed to know!! =)
