Is there a reliable way to remove both old and new oil spills from my driveway ? My son seems to have a permanent leak and I would appreciate any suggestions to avoid future stains. Please do not suggest that my son park somewhere else or to get his car fixed. I just need to remove the stains and prevent further stains. Would a large piece of Cardboard under his car help ?? Thanks for your answers....

Put alot of dish soap liquid on the oil spots just before it rains, let nature take over from there!

Cardboard? fix the oil leaks before he runs the motor with out oil. I use hydrocloryric acid 25% and "Tide laundry flakes" Tide will remove fresh stains with a little water and scrubbing. swimming pool grade Muriadic acid will burn out the really nasty stains. Caution if you do this inside the garage open up the doors and turn on a fan. Get everything that will rust off the floor.

Terry Have your son keep his car parked on the street,if you want to remove oil stains and spots try dusting the driveway with cat litter and let it absorb in overnight then wash it down if it still is there then try any good engine degreaser let it soak in and spray it off,or use any kind of citris cleaner and see if you get it off.

I used a breaks cleaner on my drive way. I figured that it worked for oil stains on the rug so it has to work on something as simple as a asphalt. It did the trick. Also to soak up the leak a good trick is kitty litter.

you can take a small amount of gas to get it up with ,and an old brush ,scrub it in to the area real good, and then spread kitty litter on top of it,when the kitty litter dries up the oil stain will be gone, and yes a good piece of card board will do fine to put in under it,that will catch it,good luck with it hope this helps.

you can try some stuff that looks like kitty litter called oil dry and put on a pair of old shoes and grind it into the concrete then sweep it up the old way-as far as prevention-you can get an old cookie sheet with small sides to put under the problem area-some auto parts stores sell them for that exact purpose

Use Kitty Litter. it will soak up the oil and make the cement look much better. Mechanics use this in their shops. I used to work in the mechanic shop and that is how we would clean up all the oil that would drip from the vehicles. its the best and cheapest way to remove oil.

oil dry or kitty litter will prevent future stains. laundry soap with water and a broom to srub it with should clean the old mess.
