We live in an apt.
******If I call to get it checked out will* it* show* something if it only does it somwetimes.
I know how dangerous it sounds but trust me it I am THAT afraid of this guy and his crew.
The back door even gets stuck to the point where we can not open it and when we called he just opened it up now it is happening again.

Get it checked
The wiring is shorting out inside the switch, and you will be able to see the burn marks

The switch is shorting out intermittently, it is dangerous, Get the Apt Manager to change it or call the city housing authority and report it...Nuf Said

You can replace that light switch yourself.
Just remember to write down where each of the wires go.
turn off your circuit breaker for that circuit, use a screwdriver to remove the switch and take the old switch to a home improvement ware house and they can find an appropriate replacement.
As for the door you may need to call a professional.

You need to inform you land lord directly not by phone. Because it is a hazard to your health. If you address the issue as soon as possible then im sure it will be taken care of the same day. If he or she just shruggs his or her shoulders then inform him or her you will be reporting this problem. If you can i would try to stay with a friend because a electrical fire can happen in your sleep. Rather safe then sorry.
additional: Try contacting your local fire department and talk to them and find out what should be done.

It's probably a defective switch or loose wire connection.
What you are smelling is ozone from the arcing contacts.
If the superintendant is a problem call the landlord.
If it's the same guy, contact your tenant's association.
Don't have one of those? Find a friendly electrician/handyman.

Sounds like a short in the wiring or a loose connection. Have your landlord send someone out to do a voltage test on it.

needs to be replaced ASAP like now if you smell burning it is shorting out inside of the switch leave it off and call someone

Just go to Home Depot and get a new switch with directions of how to install it. No worries about the dodgy maintenance crew.

If your light switch is sizzling and smells like it is burning chances are very good it is going to catch on fire and burn down the building.
