I get it. But it's hard for me to explain it to my friend who doesn't understand it.

Help me?

Keep an eye on your enemies. If you know they are a risk to you, don't let them do anything without you knowing about it.

You want to have a great back-up team in place, some people who will fight for you--your friends.

You also need to know what your enemy is doing so you can tell your people how to keep everybody safe. So you either put a spy in your enemy's circle of friends, or you pretend your enemy is your best friend. That way you always know if he's a threat to you or your people.

Keep your friends close---keep in touch, be kind, they are important to you and you could lose them.

Keep your enemies closer---when you have an enemy you need to know what they are up to---and capable of. Keep them closer means pay attention to them cause they are never working toward your good.....friends can be trusted...they dont need to be "watched". Hope that helps.

Well, it means that you should keep your friends close so that you have protection. You should keep your enemies even closer, so that you can keep an eye on them and make sure they aren't plotting against you.

Your friends aren't out to screw you - but your enemies are. Keeping them close let's you keep an eye on them so you always know what they're up to before they do any damage.

Keeping your enemy close will
- make him think twice about being overtly hostile, if he stands to gain from the proximity
- give you a better chance to observe his actions, if indeed he turns overtly hostile
