I read about the monarch butterfly that have been known to fly 100 miles a day and reach speeds up to 30 m.p.h. The average flight speed is 10 m.p.h. Yes,they migrate for long distances. For example : the Minnesota monarch butterfly begins the trip north to Mexico by February.
