Well, which is it?

Do you want to ban Spanish?

or

Do you want everyone to speak proper American English?

There are 342 languages spoken in the United States. 143 are Native American languages and signs. The rest are English, approx 80%. Of the balance, 10% Speak Spanish as their native language....The next language group is Cantonese with French and German following.

Would you also ban Cantonese, French and German?

People who live outside of Podunk, America are used to having phone menus and other public venues posted in several languages. We respect our differences and accept each other.......

You can not get multi generational Americans to speak proper American English...how are you going to force others?

The Italians, the Yiddish speaking Jews, the Polish and Russian immigrants all learned to speak English within the second generation without so much as an accent...just as the Spanish speakers of today. Go to South Texas and it is quite often the kids of the immigrant parents hardly can speak Spanish.

Ignore the talking pin heads on TV and go do a little of your own getting to know people...you will be a better person and happier for it.

Best Regards.

No language should be banned from the United States. BUT!!!
When in Germany. You speak German. Right. So when in America. You speak English. I don't know of any other countries that allow someone to sue. Or file complaints on companies just because they do not have someone Else's language on there stores. That should be up to the company. Not mandated by the government. I recently lived in Florida. Near Miami. There's a lot of Spanish speaking people there. As many of you know. I refused to learn Spanish to talk to someone in a GAS STATION when in America!! Why should I have to learn how to say. "Can I have mayonnaise on that please", in Spanish, at SUBWAY!!!!! When this is America. Now if someone wants to learn Spanish for there own personal reasons. I'm all for it. But don't force the language on me. Don't make anyone forget there language. But it should also be known to anyone who comes to America. Your in America now. We speak English.

No, People should be able to speak what ever language in their home. In Quebec they have a law that French is the only language and on signs English can only be 10 % of the French size. Since the liberals always point to canada for a model maybe we should use that

You mean stop teaching Spanish to our soldiers who might need to fight Chavez?

Or ban police officers from learning and using Spanish to interrogate illegal aliens?

Or stop foreign movies that are in Spanish, like "Pan's Labyrinth" ?

Or just stop teaching it in schools, even though you can learn German and Japanese?

By the way, proper American English, not english.

Proper American English is capitilized, Mr educated, because it is a proper noun.

Jeez!

We should not ban Spanish, but we should make American English the official language.

While we are at it, I am tired of getting in a cab in Philadelphia and listen to someone blabber on their bluetooth in the same language I hear on those terrorist videos, and I am tired of hearing ebonics every time I am in the inner city.

the respond is common, a agency caters to anybody that buys their product. We get products from different worldwide places that are in 2-3 diverse languages, so no reason to be so "extreme n powerful" approximately it. it is noticable which you probably did no longer point out French labeling that's additionally situation-loose, is a conflict against the French language no longer on your time table ?

You can ban it all you want. People speaking Spanish is kind of like what Israelis call their settlements that everyone's trying to ban - "facts on the ground." f'gedaboutit!

I don't think it should be baned necessarily.

But I definitely hate it when I have to press one for English; and the fact that Spanish is written in the same size font as English.
