Death Note, it's about a serial killer, who doesn't even need to be at the scene to murder, just a special notebook, a name, a face, he writes the name and cause (and date) of death, and the person dies. It's also about the detective trying to catch him. It isn't that long though (37 episodes, twenty minutes long).
