If we do pull the troops back and there is just 1 terrorist attack in this country, it will be on the shoulders of people like you and the rest of the Libs that have been clamoring for this for years.
I find it very hard to believe that another American would rather see fellow Americans possibly killed here in the US than to have a Republican President. All this Bush bashing is nothing more than you and your Lib friends are pissed off that you didn't get into the White House after Clinton's term was over. You'll do anything, say anything, and risk Americans being killed here from terror attacks to get back into the White House.

Why are some people in such a hurry to declare defeat? I know, you just want the troops home safe. So do I, but what purpose does that serve when after we leave, Iraq blows up into a full blown civil war with Iran and Syria on one side, and the Kurds on the other? How hard will it be then for the US to go back in 5 or 10 yrs from now and have to straighten out that mess? Do you think that any US President, democrat or republican, will be able to sit back and watch Iran control the majority of the oil in the middle east? You think gas and other fuel prices are high now just wait.
The only way to do it would be for our troops to seal the borders with Iran and Syria to ensure that neither country interferes in the civil war. This plan has already been floated by some democrats in congress. How do they think Iran will react when our troops have to fire on Iranian troops to keep them out of Iraq. By that very definition, our troops would have to fire on them inside the Iranian border. Talk about the makings for WWlll.
I don't have the answers either, that's why I'm not an elected official, but this seems to me to be a far worse plan than the one we're on. What ever happened to giving the re-enforcement until September to make the final decision. Did everyone forget that Gen Patreus said it would get worse before it gets better?

It's getting interesting. There is already chaos and hundreds of thousands dead wounded and homeless. I do think it is a shame if we left the mess we made. oh and I don't think we are ever leaving Iraq. I believe the main point of this invasion/occupation is to set up a Middle East military base. Also this is an American problem now. Not just a con problem.

Yes, don't blame conservatives, blame the rest of the middle of the roaders that supported the invasion in the first place. And no it's not over, it won't be over until we have a new administration that believes in a balance of power and the in a democracy the people's representatives matter. It's all so sad.

Did you read the whole story?
Even so, it appears the president's allies have the support to block a final Senate vote in a showdown expected next week.

When should we leave the Balkans? We've been there for over eight years. Maybe we should work on getting out of there first.

Being a con has nothing to do with it. We gave it our best shot, and gave it enough time. If the Iraqi people don't want to step in and take over then its no longer our problem, plain and simple, con or liberal.

And if chaos results in abandoning them, and millions die, will you even care? No, it's not over.
I can't fing believe that liberals don't even care if millions of people die if we abandon the Iraqis. I can't fing believe them.
