December 9th - 28th this year
After the NFR(National Finals Rodeo) up until the weekend before New Years is the least expensive time of the year. You do need to plan ahead, keep looking for deals during this time, you never know when a "super" deal will pop up.
The other times of the year when the rates are "generally" lower, are from Memorial Day until Labor Day and then again from November 1st until the end of February.
I just got home from LV 7/6 , after a month long stay. I go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. >It's nice to see someone else interested in actually taking a "vacation" to LV
Feel free to e-mail me through YA if you would like to share ideas on how to do an extended LV stay "on the cheap"

The least expensive time to come to Las Vegas is when the conventions are slow, usually the slowest times would be at times in November, mostly in December and January ( but not between 1/7-1/10 CES is in town approx 150,000 ppl also the Adult Entertainment Expo 1/9-1/12 approx 40,000 ppl. Check out the convention calender before you come, it will give you a good idea when to plan your vacation. Then picking a higher quality of hotel would work out best for you.

Hope this information helps.

That is tricky to answer - but I will do my best.
The best month - believe it or not is December.
BUT you must do it BEFORE XMAS and avoid the week that the National Finals Rodeo is in town - the hotels usually offer the best deals during the other weeks in Dec.
There are other times but they aren't as obvious.
Look up when the National Finals Rodeo is scheduled, then try looking at the prices of rooms on-line during the other weeks in Dec - you will be surprised!
It actually might be cheaper for you to look at the extended stay places that rent by the week. They are off the strip, but some aren't far from it - and you may save some $.

The best value buffets are not on the strip.
The strip is for tourists that don't have transportation to get off the strip, and are a captive audience for the overpriced meals. Way overpriced IMO.
Locals eat off the strip.
Try the Orleans, Silverton and Main Street Station (Downtown) for great value buffets, AND you can get 2 for 1 coupons for the buffets by oredering a book called
AMERICAN CASINO GUIDE 2007 Edition. (Author Steve Bourie) Available on Amazon, eBay etc. Coupons good until Dec '07, also good for some shows and a few casino bets.
You need to go downtown and get the FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCEfun book coupons for a Main St 2 for 1
It's well worth the cost of the book if you are going to LV for 3 or 4 days or more. LOADS of great coupons in this book.
Silverton Lunch Buffet is $9.95 and 2 for 1 in the book, amazing meal for 2 for $10 !!
Others are $15 max, but 2 for1's are in the book.
You need a car to get off the strip for Silverton or Orleans, but you can take a bus downtown for Main Street Stn.
The book is WELL worth the cost if you are there for a few days with a car. Have Fun !

3 weeks is going to cost you a fortune because the Weekend rates don't go down much.
But the weekday rates are at their lowest in November and December. Trust me I work in a Casino.
Also by the second week you'll either be out of stuff to do or broke!

during the first 3 weeks in December you can get rooms for close to half the price of normal months. Places like Orleans, Gold Coast go for about $20-$25 during that time period.

Winter is also pretty cheap. Look for hotel rates around $50-60 a night. Thats what we paid in February at the MGM grand. Of course the pool wasn't open then.

You were actually there during the cheap season! Summer is the cheapest in general. But for really cheap rates... Last minute anytime is best!

Just after school begins in September is probably the best time. I would strongly suggest you make reservations for Monday to Thursday.
