what do you suggest. geforce 7600 or 8600 for a casual gamer?

Actually if u like to play 3d or hightech games so must be 8600 but if just normal games 7600 should be ok also.

Actually, a 7600 GT is almost as fast as an 8600 GT: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/453/8 That means that for only $20 more than a DDR3 8600 GT, the best deal in video cards at the moment is an X1950 Pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102061 And an X1950 Pro is WAY faster than any 8600 GT: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=725&model2=716&chart=318 [Yeah, I realize that that last link doesn't have an 8600 GT, but it's got a 7600 GT, which we already know is nearly identical in speed to an 8600 GT ;-) ]

depends on how serious you are and how much you can afford but the 8600 is better

8600GT will slightly beat the 7600GT, my only warning would be to watch out for GDDR2 Models of these cards as they are considerably slower in performance compared to GDDR3 versions.
